Investigate, Explore, Discover

At Friends School of Wilmington, students learn to explore opportunities, take healthy risks and master essential skills in an environment that both nurtures and challenges them. Quaker principles are at the heart of Friends School and guide the PreK-8th grade educational program. Students are nurtured in an atmosphere that emphasizes the relationships among all areas of academia and motivates students to become independent learners; creative thinkers; articulate, effective communicators and mediators; and community activists, committed to living their lives with conscience, integrity and compassion.

In the Montessori preschool (18 months-Kindergarten), students build the solid educational and emotional foundation that will underlie a lifetime of learning, thinking, creating, and caring. It is a place where each child is supported as she or he discovers the power of the mind and the exciting opportunities the world holds for us all.

Friends School is a member of the North Carolina Association of Independent Schools, and Friends Council on Education, and has dual accreditation from the Southern Association of Independent Schools and Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
