Students practice research and writing skills while creating their own blogs
Friends School of Wilmington's digital literacy program is based on the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) standards. Students are challenged to demonstrate creative thinking, construct knowledge, and develop innovative products and processes using technology. Teachers guide students to use digital media to communicate and work collaboratively (in the same room or from a distance) to support individual learning and contribute to the learning of others. Technology at Friends School furthers students’ use of critical thinking skills as they plan and conduct research, manage projects, solve problems, and make informed decisions using appropriate digital tools and resources. Finally, students learn to understand human, cultural, and societal issues related to technology and become advocates for legal and ethical behavior.
