The Friends School auction is the largest PTO fundraiser of the year, as well as an important community-building event.  The auction not only provides an opportunity for members of the Friends School community to enjoy an evening together, but it also raises money that directly benefits the School.  This year’s fundraising goal is $25,000 with 100 %  of the proceeds going toward enhancing our children's education. With your support, we hope to surpass this year’s goal.

As a nonprofit, independent school, we depend on parents, alumni and friends for voluntary support for our gatherings and events. The auction provides Friends School community members an opportunity to have fun while working together to achieve a common goal. The PTO Auction Committee invites you to take your Friends School community experience to the next level and become an auction volunteer!

Auction Night Arrival Details
When you arrive the night of the auction, register at the check-in table to pick up your bid number and other important information.  Enjoy drinks and hors d'oeuvres as you bid on items in the silent auction.  Be sure to take advantage of guaranteed bids to ensure you win the items you really want. Once the silent auction closes, the dinner buffet will open and guests will be seated at their tables.  The live auction begins  and it is always full of excitement.  After you have exhausted your dance shoes to the musical stylings of Bibis and the Spare Change Band, pick up your items at check-out and settle your account with cash or check.  If you must leave before check-out opens, please contact Lora Plauché or Kim Traver the following Monday, May 3, to settle your account.
 
How do I bid in the Silent Auction?
Silent auction items each have a bid sheet with pre-printed bid amounts.  To place your bid, simply write your assigned bid number next to the desired bid amount.  To win the item, check back before the silent auction closes to be sure you are the last bidder.  The winner will be noted on each bid sheet after 7:30 p.m.  Auction items will be available at check-out after the evening concludes.
 
What is a guaranteed bid?
Bidders have the option to guarantee a purchase from the silent auction by bidding the guaranteed bid.  Guaranteed bids are set above the retail value of each item.  The first bidder to sign the bottom of the bid sheet commits to paying the guaranteed price and becomes the winning bidder.  Live auction items are not available for guaranteed bids.  Auction patrons have the privilege of placing guaranteed bids 15 minutes before the auction opens.  Auction items purchased must remain on display for the remainder of the auction.
