Giving Back

A Culture of Philanthropy and Stewardship

Each year, Friends School of Wilmington turns to its families and friends for additional support, financial and otherwise. We recognize that this is a meaningful request, particularly in light of the tuition expense already shouldered by families. We are deeply grateful for the volunteer and philanthropic support we receive because it is critically important to our school and it makes a significant difference on many levels.

The most visible impact of giving back is seen in our ability to offer an outstanding academic program in tandem with a school community based on Quaker values, including simplicity, peaceful problem solving, equality, and integrity. Because tuition alone does not cover the full costs of educating students at Friends School, charitable contributions help us attract and retain exceptional teachers, provide equipment and supplies for programs, and offer competitive tuition assistance. Donations also help maintain a safe and clean physical space for our students, teachers, and community members.

In our short history, our school community has built a culture of philanthropy and stewardship that we cherish. We cultivate this through a spirit of giving back – through volunteer opportunities, the Annual Fund, our annual auction, our Series of Friends Events, and a variety of other ways. We hope the spirit of giving will continue to flourish at Friends School and welcome your interest and support.
