Math Curriculum

The FSW math program strives to equip each student to think logically and analytically and to effectively communicate problem-solving strategies. Students are given the opportunity to utilize reason, insight and authentic applications. We develop a student’s proficiency in algebra and other mathematical concepts throughout the math curriculum, the core of which is Connected Mathematics (Michigan State University). Topics are explored visually, symbolically, and verbally. Hands-on projects help students explore concepts for deeper understanding. Our aim is to encourage students to become confident in their math abilities and to recognize math as a powerful subject and tool in the real world.
