A Montessori preschool student creates independently using prepared materials
Our Montessori preschool program is founded on the firm belief that each child is a unique individual; that placed in a nurturing environment and geared to the fulfillment of his individual needs; the child will thrive and develop to his full potential. Based on the Montessori principles of education, the Stepping Stones (18 months- 2 years-old), Primary (3,4, and 5-year olds), and Kindergarten classrooms foster the qualities of independence, initiative, and responsibility. Students are given freedom of movement in the classroom. When students first enter the classroom each morning, they choose appropriate work in an environment specifically designed for them and they work at their own pace. The Stepping Stones classes enroll children ages 18 months through three years-old with an option of two or three mornings a week, depending on developmental readiness. There are two Montessori Primary classes for children ages three to six years-old. The three and four year-olds classes meet five days a week for a half-day preschool program, while the five and six year-old kindergartners are full-day students. Lunch Bunch is available for 3 and 4 year olds to extend their day to 3:00.
