A Passion for International Business and a Taste for Whiskey
A passion for high quality whiskey and pension for chemistry jumpstarted Nick Scarff's (class of 2006) career as a product developer for major spirits brands. Most recently, he started his own consulting business and joined Next Century Spirits--a Raleigh based technology startup--as Master Blender and VP of Business Development.
Nick Scarff graduated from FSW in 2006 and attended Hoggard High School before earning degrees from NC State in Biochemistry and International Studies. He developed a passion for high quality whiskey and combined this with his love for chemistry to jumpstart a career as a product developer for major spirits brands. Most recently, he started his own consulting business and joined Next Century Spirits--a Raleigh based technology startup--as Master Blender and VP of Business Development. Nick has worked all over the world, including in England, India, Japan, and China, and he was recently interviewed by Forbes magazine about the work he is doing with NCS. Understanding and respecting other people and cultures is crucial in developing interpersonal skills and ethical decision-making processes that kids will carry with them for the rest of their lives, guiding them as they become leaders in their fields."
