Application Process

Ready to discover the Friends School difference? Submit a New Student Inquiry Form. We will promptly contact you to answer any questions you may have and to schedule a campus tour.

Create an online FSW account. Once logged in, choose "Create A New Student Application." You will then have the flexibility to log in and out of your account to edit your open application. 

If your child is currently attending a preschool program, submit the Teacher Recommendation Form to their current school and/or teacher. They will return the completed document to us directly.  

Once the application is complete, the Director of Admissions will contact the parents/guardians to schedule a student admissions visit.

Following the admissions visit, the Admissions Committee will meet to thoughtfully discuss the student's interview and application. The Director of Admissions will notify parents/guardians of an admission decision within one week.

If you wish to be considered for Tailored Tuition, please submit the necessary financial documentation through our tuition management system at the same time you submit an application for enrollment. The Tailored Tuition and admissions processes proceed separately but concurrently.

We request a writing/drawing sample of student work as part of our application materials. Students may use the space to draw a picture and then write a caption or narrative (if able). Imaginative drawing and storytelling are encouraged!

For current New Hanover County Schools families, NHCS does not permit teachers to complete external recommendation forms. If your child is currently enrolled in NHCS, contact David Hoolahan for alternative options.

We are interested in learning as much as we can about your child--in their own words--on this questionnaire. Students should write freely and in their own handwriting.
