The Esch Endowment for DEIJB
The Esch Endowment for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Justice, & Belonging
Statement of Purpose
What is my gift going to do?
By establishing the Esch Endowment for DEIJB, the crucial first endowed fund at Friends School of Wilmington, the school wishes to make clear its long-term commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, justice, and belonging in our school, community, and world. No longer tapping operating or annual fund dollars, this endowment will fund faculty training, parent workshops, speaker series, merit and need-based family scholarships, and experiential learning opportunities that are essential to continuing to build FSW’s ability to provide an authentically inclusive environment for all.
This fund highlights Friends School’s permanent commitment to cultivate the values that allow all students to thrive with their unique identities, abilities, and life experiences. In addition to faculty training and parent workshops, this funding will allow for innovative strategies to recruit and attract a more diverse staff, faculty, and student population, reflecting the city in which we live. Ultimately, this will allow FSW to foster an inclusive community where people of all races, ethnicities, abilities, gender identities, and backgrounds not only feel welcome, but thrive.
