Glen graduated from Hope College with a B.A. in Political Science and Philosophy with a minor in History. He taught American History and Ancient Civilizations at the John Thomas Dye School in Los Angeles, California. Glen also worked for three years as a sailing and marine science instructor at the Catalina Island Marine Institute at Toyon Bay in Avalon, California. He joined the FSW faculty in 2021.

After graduating from Guilford College with a BS in Sports Management, Jesse taught in New England and then at Friends School of Wilmington, where he spent four years teaching math, coaching basketball, serving as the faculty representative to the Board, and coordinating both the academic and social curriculums. Jesse worked in Sports Journalism in the intervening years and returned to FSW in 2016.

Kaylie earned her M.F.A. in Creative Writing from UNC -Wilmington in 2022, following her undergraduate degree in English Literature from Loyola University, where she graduated with honors. Kaylie worked as a Teaching Assistant at UNCW and also held the position of Writers in Action Teacher at Roland Grise Middle School. Kaylie joined the FSW faculty in 2022.

Rob Ward

Arriving at FSW in 2022, Rob brought 18 years of diverse teaching experience to his role as our middle school science teacher. After completing an undergraduate degree in Geography and a Graduate Teacher Training Program in England,  Rob taught in grades K-5 in the UK, middle school in South Korea, and preschool through 1st grade in Thailand. Since 2016, Rob has been a lead teacher at Alderman Elementary School.
